The Ignorance

London Writers Competiton

I received a small, but perfectly formed, cheque for coming runner-up in the London Writers Competition Fiction For Children section. I had a great time at the award ceremony at the Roehampton Institute, and was really glad that Naomi Conran, a fellow student on Elizabeth Hawkins's Writing for Children course at the City Lit, was also a runner-up.

I was really nervous when the awards were announced, but that was soon cooled by the fact that my name was the first read out. Paula, my girlfriend, said that she was glad she didn't have to reassure me that being nominated was just as good as winning a prize!

I've thoroughly enjoyed the Writing for Children course and can heartily recommend it. You can get the course details on the City Lit website from the CV and Links page.

Sitcom Trials

I'm doing some more work with Kev F Sutherland's Sitcom Trials. So far I've written two episodes of Fiends Reunited, a story about three bullies who meet up again 20 years after leaving school. And I've also scribed the first episode of a comedy about workers on the London tube called Going Underground. My latest attempt is an episode of Can We Get Les Dennis? which is one of the established Sitcom Trials shows, and I'll know soon if it's going to be included in future shows.

More information can be found on their website on the CV and Links page.
